THE VISIONARIES - BARGA (LUCCA)

The first major exhibition of 2026 sees me featured in Barga, one of Italy’s most beautiful villages, set in the heart of Garfagnana, in the province of Lucca. The event is promoted by the Municipality of Barga, the Region of Tuscany, the association “I Borghi più belli d’Italia,” Oxo Collection Art Gallery, and myself, and unfolds as a widespread exhibition throughout the town. It will include:

- a solo show at OXO Gallery in Piazza del Comune;
- several works displayed in three venues in the historic center;
- a series of monumental installations along the streets and main squares of the village.

More specifically, Mr Arbitrium Mirrored (the largest, measuring 2 m by 3.70 m) will be on view in front of the Cathedral of Barga. In the entrance hall of Palazzo Balduini on Via di Mezzo, Gravity will be exhibited, along with a crouched Sospeso along the same street. Korf will be placed on Viale Marconi, outside the walls overlooking the valley. Further throughout the village: La Battaglia di Babilonia will be at Ristorante Da Alfonso in Piazza Angelio; Sospesi will be at Ristorante Scacciaguai and along Via di Mezzo; Bipede will be hosted at the Art Boutique Hotel Acchiappasogni on Via di Mezzo; and Hotel a Capsule will be at the restaurant Wine Not? in Piazza Santissima Annunziata..

After Milan, Siena, and other cities, I felt the desire to bring an urban exhibition into a village like Barga – so rich in history and beauty. I approach this project with great curiosity and enthusiasm: exhibiting in a place so intimate and beloved, passed down through generations, where art breathes internationally – echoed even in the jazz notes that fill its streets during summer. An atmosphere without borders, akin to Pietrasanta. Those who know me are aware of my passion for urban exhibitions: I like to step outside the traditional spaces of galleries and museums and bring art into the public realm, where it can meet a wider audience. Because art is, above all, communication – something that moves beyond closed circles and evokes different emotions in every observer.

The exhibition opening will take place on Saturday, May 9 at 6:00 PM at the Cathedral of Barga, in the presence of Mayor Caterina Campani and institutional representatives. I look forward to seeing you in Barga!
